The market of Madureira, the third largest market in Rio de Janeiro is under threat of mall developments that are happening in its periphery. Its loosing the battle to the malls since they can provide a much pleasant shopping experience within their control tempeture buildings. Madureiras lack of shading furniture or shading trees within the its streets make the shooping experience brutal to tolerate. We are designing a wind tower that uses negative pressure to introduce wind breezes to the site in the hot summer days. This new towers will be place in street corridors not only providing the shoopers with a comfortable breeze but some public spaces where they can rest and interact.
